Cooper Flagg Makes NBA History With Latest 35-Point Performance
Dec 1, 2025
Cooper Flagg came into the NBA as the most touted prospect since Victor Wembanyama, and while the expectations weren't quite that high, he's been off to a fantastic start for the struggling Dallas Mavericks. The team themselves are just 6-15 through their first 21 games, but unsurprisingly, the 18-year old has adjusted to the game well at the highest level.
In his rookie campaign, Flagg leads the Mavericks in scoring with 16.7 points a night to go along with 6.6 rebounds and 3.5 assists a game, showing off his immense talent and versatility. Once again, he has made some NBA history as well, as he went off for 35 points on 13/22 shooting in the team's tight 114-110 win over the Los Angeles Clippers.
That makes him the youngest player (18 years, 343 days) in league history to score 35 points or more in a game, surpassing LeBron James by just one day, as he did it while being 18-years, 344 days.
While the outlook for Dallas isn't exactly high for this season, their long-term future is locked in with Flagg leading the way, and if they can add to the core around him, this is a team that could find success in the NBA for years to come.

While there's been some downs early in Flagg's NBA career, the highs continue getting higher, and if he keeps up the play at this level, he could be one of the best players in the entire NBA one day.
