Clippers Land Another Washed-Up Veteran Scorer in This Wild Trade Idea
Dec 1, 2025
The Los Angeles Clippers are in a ton of trouble. As of Monday, they are 5-15, have lost four straight games, and sit near the bottom of the Western Conference standings. What makes matters worse is that the Clippers don’t own their own draft pick after this season. They started the season with hopes of competing for a title, but now, they are just hoping to not give the Oklahoma City Thunder a top pick in next year’s draft.
Because of their current situation, many Clippers trade rumors have been going around. The season is still early, and there’s a chance that a trade could help bring them off the Western Conference floor and back into the playoff mix.
Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report recently proposed a wild three-team trade that would land the Clippers a bit more help.
“Clippers get:
DeMar DeRozan (from Kings)
Keon Ellis (from Kings)
Jalen Wilson (from Nets)
$8.75 million trade exception (Brook Lopez)
Kings get:
Michael Porter Jr. (from Nets)
Kobe Brown (from Clippers)
$2.3 million trade exception (Keon Ellis)
Nets get:
Dennis Schröder (from Kings)
Brook Lopez (from Clippers)
Bogdan Bogdanović (from Clippers)
Yanic Konan Niederhauser (from Clippers)
2030 protected first-round pick (from Clippers)”

The Clippers shouldn’t panic and make a trade like this. Giving up more draft capital (in the form of a 2030 pick) is a huge mistake. By 2030, the Clippers could easily be just as terrible, if not worse than this year. Additionally, the Clippers are just not going to be that much better by bringing DeRozan and Keon Ellis onto the team.
Sure, they may improve slightly, but they would still be far from being a title contender. If the Clippers are going to make a bold trade, this isn’t the one they should make.
