NBA Player Poll Reveals Who The Players Think Is The Best In The League

The NBA is full of rising stars like we've never seen before, and with a new generational talent seemingly entering the league every season now, when Curry, Durant and James among others all retire, the belief is that the league is in good hands.

However, the debate for the best player in the league rolls on, and with the likes of Nikola Jokic, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Luka Doncic and others all putting up MVP seasons, it's a debate that can get very heated among fans and analysts. Now, the question has been posed to the players in the NBA in a recent poll conducted by The Athletic, and unsurprisingly, those players named Jokic as the current best player in the league.

What may be most surprising to many is that Donovan Mitchell ended up at No. 4 in the poll, and while he's been incredible for the Cleveland Cavaliers since arriving, he's often overlooked by fans. As for Jokic, he's been near unstoppable in recent years, and after averaging 30, 13 and 10 a year ago, and then following it up with 29, 12 and 11 this season, he's having one of the greatest primes in NBA history.

With three MVP awards under his belt already, Jokic is in rare company in league history, and if he can keep up this level of play, not only will he be seen as one of the top centers in NBA history, but he may go down as one of the all-time greats.
