Utah Jazz Expected To Aggressively Pursue Lakers Star in the Summer

The Utah Jazz have been building quite a talented young roster over the past few years following the hauls they landed in the blockbuster Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert trades. That young core is built around the likes of Ace Bailey, Lauri Markkanen, Walker Kessler, and Keyonte George, but they're still missing a genuine superstar.

With plenty of salary cap space and assets moving forward, there's a chance that this team can start to take that next step forward in the coming years. Now, they've reportedly got their eyes on a top target this summer, with reports from Kevin O'Connor revealing that the team will have 'big interest' in Lakers star Austin Reaves over the summer.

In 23 games played this season, Reaves is averaging a career-high 27 points, and with 5 rebounds and 6 assists on top of that, he's clearly taking the next step following the immense potential he's flashed in recent years. This off-season, he'll be one of the top free agents available, and unless he signs an extension with the Lakers before that time comes, he's expected to draw significant interest over the summer from all over the league.

On paper, Reaves would be an immense fit with Utah's young core, and while he'll likely be a little more interested in landing with a contending team, if the money is right, don't be shocked if the Jazz look to pull off this massive coup in free agency.
