Aug 21, 2025
Team Greece blew out Team Latvia by a score of 104-86 as Giannis Antentokuonmpo shined and Kristaps Porzingis struggled.

Both stars are participating in this year's EuroBasket tournament. Their teams met for the Acropolis Tournament, which is serving as sort of a tune-up for the European event.
The games played in Europe are much different than those played at teh NBA level and sometimes players can have a hard time adapting. That was certainly the case with Porzingis on Wednesday.
The Latvian star only scored 7 points during the game and missed all four of his attempts from three point range. The leading scorer on the Latvian team was Rihards Lomasz who scored 17 points.
The story was differnet for Antentokounmpo who got off to a fast start, scoring 20 points in the first half. Greece went into halftime leading by a score of 61-45. The Greek Freak would finished the contest with 25 points and 10 rebounds.
Antentokounmpo will be entering a year of change in Milwaukee this season. The Bucks lost long-time center Brook Lopez who signed with the Clippers. The team also chose to waive and stretch point guard Damian Lillard. Milwaukee also signed one of the biggest free agents in the market, adding Myles Turner.
Porzingis is also entering a bit of a different situation. He was traded away from the Boston Celtics, who he helped win a championship in 2024, to the Atlanta Hawks. The Latvian star had a tough time in the 2025 playoffs and is looking to get back into health.
