Report: Giannis' Bucks Future Still Not Decided Yet
Aug 20, 2025
According to ESPN's Shams Charania, there is still lots of uncertainty about the future of Milwaukee Bucks megastar Giannis Antetokounmpo.

It is not easy for a small market team to hold onto their best players for their entire career. The Bucks have managed to do so with Giannis Antetokounmpo, as the Greek Freak is now entering his 13th season with the squad.
There has been plenty of success for Giannis and the Bucks, as he has won two MVP Awards, made nine All-Star teams, and led the team to the NBA Championship in 2021.
Still, the team has had trouble the last few years trying to put a competitive enough team around Antetokounmpo to win a championship title. This offseason saw the Bucks waive and stretch point guard Damian Lillard and sign Pacers standout Myles Turner.
Still, there have been rumors all offseason about Giannis potentially asking out of town so he could chase titles with a different team. When asked about Antetokounmpo's status, Charania answered:
"Sources tell me there's still nothing set in stone about whether Giannis Antetokounmpo will stay in Milwaukee or whether he will be leaving." The reporter would later continue:
"They did that because they wanted to show Giannis, we're doing everything in our power to keep you here. But Giannis Antetokounmpo is the ultimate decider whether he feels this roster is good enough."
Antetokounmpo isn't going anywhere this offseason, but rumblings about his status could get louder if the Bucks get off to a bad start. The team should benefit from Boston and Indiana missing star players for most of the season.
