WNBA Legend Candace Parker Gives Her Opinion on Angel Reese

During a recent episode of her Post Moves Podcast, WNBA legend Candace Parker gave her unfiltered opinion on Chicago Sky star Angel Reese and her place in the league.

Caitlin Clark is maybe the most talked about player in WNBA history. And every great player needs a foil, a rival to push them to greater heights than they could have imagined. And ever since their college days, Angel Reese has been seen as that rival for Clark.

After a decorated career at LSU, Reese entered the WNBA in 2024, the same year that Clark did. And she has been a standout in the league.

There is no doubt that Reese has been successful so far in the WNBA. In 2024, the power forward led the WNBA in rebounding and was named to the league's All-Rookie Team. Reese has also been honored with All-Star Game appearances in each of the last two seasons.

Despite that success, Reese is considered to be a notch or two below Clark. And while she is a star, she is not necessarily the second-best player in the league either. This was the case Parker made when she said:

"Are you taking Angel above Paige Bueckers, Arike Ogunbowale, Sabrina Ionescu, Kelsey Plum, Caitlin Clark, A'ja Wilson, Napheesa Collier, or Breanna Stewart? No. That does not make her a bad player. That does not make me a hater."

Of course, Reese is not a finished product by any stretch of the imagination, and she has accomplished plenty considering that she just turned 23 in May. She has the chance to continue to climb the ladder in the WNBA.
