Former Scoring Champion McGrady to Join NBC Sports as Analyst

Former multiple-time NBA All-Star Tracy McGrady will be joining NBC as a studio analyst for the upcoming season.

McGrady was one of the first players to leave high school straight for the NBA, and he became a star for the Toronto Raptors playing alongside his cousin, Vince Carter (they didn't know they were cousins until after they were drafted into the league).

McGrady's career continued to flourish when he was traded to the Orlando Magic, where he became a devastating scorer. McGrady led the league in scoring in both 2003 and 2004.

Like many former players, the swingman is now getting into the media game. Upon the announcement of his position with NBC, he issued the following statement:

"I’m humbled and grateful for the opportunity to join NBC Sports as the game returns to a network that helped shape so many iconic basketball memories. Basketball has given me everything, and I’ve always just tried to give that same energy back. I hope I can bring the same passion, insight, and love for the game that’s driven me since I was a kid, to all who tune in to watch on NBC and Peacock. I couldn’t be more excited to join this team alongside so many others I admire.”

McGrady will appear on studio shows during halftime of games, working with hosts Maria Taylor and Ahmed Fareed. The seven-time All-Star will also work with some of the people he faced off against in the NBA, as Carmelo Anthony and Vince Carter also work as studio analysts.
