Michael Porter Jr. Reveals Basketball Related Reason he Turned Relationship Down

During an appearance on the One Night With Steiny podcast, Michael Porter Jr. opened up about why he might turn down potential relationships.

Thanks to his openness and honesty, Porter Jr. has become one of the best interviewees in the NBA. During the conversation with Steiny, he talked about why he would turn down certain women. He explained:

"If she’s ever been with somebody that I know I’m cool with, I’m not about to ever wife you. Just because I'm not trying to be on the court and I give you a bucket or something and you’re talking about ‘that’s why I hit your girl.' There was this one girl I really liked one time, but she used to talk to a dude that was in the league, and I’m just like ‘I can’t do it’ because if I’m cooking him, then he’s just allowed to say ‘that’s why I got your girl."

When Porter Jr. first entered the NBA as the Denver Nuggets first round pick, number 14 overall, in the 2018 NBA draft, there were concerns about whether his injuries would ever allow him to become an effective player.

Porter Jr. has allayed those concerns and has been very good so far during his NBA career. A 6-10 forward with tremendous shooting range, he has career averages of 16.2 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. This offseason, Porter Jr. was dealt to the Brooklyn Nets for Cameron Johnson. Now in a much bigger market, Porter Jr. will have the chance to elevate his game.
