John Wall Lands a New Gig Shortly After Announcing His Retirement

Former All-Star John Wall, who recently announced that he would be joining Amazon Prime as a basketball analyst, has found a new role quickly.

It didn't take Wall long to land a new gig after he announced his retirement from the game. He has long been considered an especially bright player, and he is expected to bring that acumen to his role with Amazon.

Wall recently spoke with The Washington Post about his career in the NBA and his future plans. He said of the way he sees the game:

"If you never really had the opportunity to sit down and talk to me, you won’t really understand how much I love basketball, where my basketball mind is at, where my IQ is. I can basically tell you the best players in the country — from girls to boys, high school, to the players who are in college, to the people who are in the NBA and WNBA."

Wall spent almost his entire career in the league with the Washington Wizards. Following some brutal injuries, however, he would later play for the Houston Rockets and the Los Angeles Clippers. He also touched on his desire to play for just one team, telling the Post:

"I always wanted to play for one team my whole career. I never wanted to switch. But I wouldn’t change my story for anything. I gave 110 percent effort. I gave everything I had on both ends of the floor. Sometimes I was hardheaded and played through injuries that I probably shouldn’t have played through."
