Golden State Warriors 'More Open That Ever' To Dealing Brandin Podziemski

The Golden State Warriors made the blockbuster trade to acquire Jimmy Butler a year ago, and this season, it appeared they were ready to be a major contender in the Western Conference. However, they're just 13–14 through their first 27 games played, and now, it appears as though the team is ready to shake things up moving forward.

For the most part, people have expected them to deal a first-round pick or two and Jonathan Kuminga for an upgrade, but now, they may be open to dealing a much bigger piece of their future. According to Evan Sidery of Forbes, the Warriors are now more than ever open to dealing Brandin Podziemski, who has recently been labeled as completely unavailable by the team.

As Sidery mentions, including Podziemski was a no-go for the Warriors front office in a potential deal to acquire Lauri Markkanen, but now, with the team struggling, it appears as though their tone has changed.

This season, the 22-year-old has averaged a career-high 12 points per game to go along with five rebounds and three assists, and while he's seen as a key piece of the Warriors' future, they now need to weigh up which is more important: one last shot at a title or the future.

On paper, there are plenty of positives to dealing with Podziemski as well as keeping him, and now, the Warriors need to weigh up what is most important heading into the future.
