Toronto Raptors Showing Interest In Charlotte Hornets Superstar

The Toronto Raptors are off to a surprisingly good start in 2025–26, and with a good, balanced lineup of young stars, it's easy to see why fans are starting to become incredibly excited about this team. The front office is seemingly optimistic as well, as recent reports have revealed their interest in several All-Star big men, including Anthony Davis and Domantas Sabonis.

They're not just interested in an upgrade up front, however, as a recent report from Michael Scotto has revealed, they are also showing some level of intrigue in Charlotte Hornets star LaMelo Ball.

“Speaking of trade interest, the Toronto Raptors checked in on the availability of Ball over the summer, league sources told HoopsHype. Ironically, Ball ran out of the tunnel with the Raptors before their game against the Hornets in Toronto on December 5th. Later in the game, he injured his ankle and has been out since.”

Ball appears to be on the trade block this season, with the Hornets pivoting to Kon Knueppel as the face of the franchise, and as a result, they appear ready to move the former No. 3 overall draft pick.

There are, of course, concerns over how seriously Ball takes basketball, and with the team looking to get back into the NBA Playoffs, giving up too many assets for him could be a mistake. Ultimately, though, if the deal is right, Ball could take this team from exciting to a genuine threat if they decide to acquire him, so keep a close eye on this pursuit moving forward.
