Indiana Pacers Showing Interest In Rising Sacramento Kings Star
Dec 19, 2025
The Indiana Pacers have dealt with plenty of injury issues this season, and with a 6–21 record through their first 27 games of the year, the belief around the league is that they will struggle to turn things around. With no Tyrese Haliburton and other injuries piling up, that seems unlikely this season, and the team is likely pivoting toward the future.
Thankfully for Indiana, the majority of their core, from Benedict Mathurin to Andrew Nembhard, remains very young, and if they can make some good moves, they can build something strong for the years ahead. Now, we know of one key piece they are potentially looking to add to their roster, as reports from Michael Scotto have now revealed that they have their eyes firmly on Sacramento Kings rising star Keon Ellis.
Despite having incredible promise for the future, the Kings are seemingly looking to shake things up in a big way, and while his production has dropped to just 5.5 points a game this season, there are many factors that go into that.

However, Ellis's major strength comes on the defensive end of the floor, and given the identity that the Pacers have built, he would be a perfect fit with them moving forward. Ultimately, though, Indiana won't be the only team with a close eye on Ellis ahead of the trade deadline, but if they could add him to this young core, it would give them another weapon in their pursuit of an NBA title in the years to come.
