Antony Edwards Is Going on a Basketball Tour in China

Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards is going on tour in China as Adidas attempts to grow his popularity worldwide. 

The NBA has long been a global game, and the biggest stars are known around the world. Anthony Edwards is one of those global stars, thanks in part to his relationship with Adidas. 

Like James Harden earlier this summer, Edwards is going on tour with the shoe brand to grow awareness. Joining him in the endeavor is his business manager, Justin Holland, who told the Minneapolis Star Tribune: 

"I don’t think any of us know what to expect. He’s definitely excited about going. Ever since we’ve been making these trips, going to other countries with FIBA [two seasons ago], I think he’s getting excited as we get ready to leave."

The business manager continued, "We’ve seen the videos from James Harden, and we’ve seen the videos when other athletes go over so he’s anxious to see what the response will be with him going over there. Because we’ve heard so much about how Chinese culture embraces the NBA."

Edwards, the first overall selection of the NBA Draft in 2020 NBA Draft has already accomplished quite a bit in his career, leading the Minnesota Timberwolves to the Western Conference Finals the last two seasons. 

The shooting guard has also had plenty of individual success as well. Edwards was First-Team All-Rookie during his inaugural season and has been named to the last three NBA All-Star games. He has also been named Second-Team All NBA in 2024 and 2025.
