Unrivaled? FIBA World Cup 2026? Here's A Sneak Peek At Caitlin Clark's Future

In today’s WNBA, Caitlin Clark is the most sought-after player on and off the court. From gracing the cover of TIME magazine to ushering in a new era of prominence in Indianapolis, Clark has reached a celebrity status that few other athletes in the WNBA’s history have enjoyed.

The question now is: What’s next for CC?

Long before the Indiana Fever were finally outlasted by the Las Vegas Aces in their second-round series, Clark had already told the world that her body would not be able to recover in time for the playoffs. Unfortunately for Fever fans, a quad strain and a groin injury have reduced Clark’s sophomore season to a massive “What if?”

With several months to go before the Fever’s 2026 season begins (assuming, of course, that the players’ union agrees on a new CBA with the league), Clark’s supporters are wondering when they’ll see their favorite player back in action. There are two exciting possibilities on the horizon, and it appears that the Fever star has made up her mind on at least one of them.

No Unrivaled appearance for now

For those who have been waiting to see Clark in three-on-three action, they’ll have to exercise more patience. This week, Front Office Sports reported that Clark would be skipping the second season of Unrivaled.

Last year, when Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart finally got their startup league off the ground, all eyes were on Clark to announce her commitment to play. However, CC didn’t throw her name in the hat just yet, citing the need to get some rest after a hectic schedule dating back to her college days.

Recently, Unrivaled was said to have offered her a seven-figure salary and some sweet perks to convince her to say yes. Allegedly, Clark turned down the lucrative offer.

How about Team USA? Well…

While it’s a safe bet that Clark won’t be seeing action in Unrivaled, there’s another basketball venture that could still draw her participation.

During a recent media availability, Clark stated that her top priority right now is “some USA basketball stuff.” This is an exciting sound bite, as this could mean that Clark is targeting a roster spot on Team USA for the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup in September 2026.

Prior to Team USA’s foray into this international tournament, they are scheduled to run a camp in March. That’s just five months away, and from the looks of it, Clark is looking to get back to tip-top shape in time for this spring camp.

Has Clark definitively said that she is committing to play at the FIBA World Cup? No, but the signs are certainly pointing to her interest in this prestigious event. CC shooting the lights out on the grand stage of this tournament would certainly be a sight to behold.
