Draymond Green Discusses the Possibility of Being Traded
Feb 4, 2026
Could this be the end of Draymond Green’s time in Golden State? With the Giannis trade rumors continuing to link the Warriors to Giannis, many believe that Draymond could be included in a potential deal. The Warriors have said they don’t plan to trade Jimmy Butler while he recovers from his ACL injury. That means to land Giannis, the Warriors would likely have to include Draymond in the deal.
Draymond spoke about the possibility of being traded after the Warriors' tough loss to the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday night.
"I've been here for 14 years; I have no reason to sit and worry about leaving. But if I'm traded, that's part of the business. It is what it is. I ain't losing no sleep, though. I slept great last night, longer than I've slept in a long time…If you would have told me 13½ years ago, 'You can sign this sheet of paper to be in a place for 13½ years,' would you sign it? And I would have signed it faster than you can blink. So what do I have to worry about or be upset about? I've been here longer than probably 98% of NBA players have been in one place. And a guy from Saginaw has been in a place for 13½ years. I don't know that it ends at 13½ years, but if it does, what a f---ing run it's been."

It seems like Draymond might be at peace with the possibility that he could be on a new team by the end of this week. While it’s sad for Warriors fans to imagine Stephen Curry playing without Green, the Warriors need to do whatever they can to help Steph compete for one final NBA title.
If that means trading Draymond, there will be no hard feelings. Draymond understands the business side of the NBA and is appreciative of the good fortune he’s had staying in Golden State for his whole career.
