Steph Curry Shares Special Moment With Starstruck Warriors Rookies
Oct 3, 2025
To say that Steph Curry is one of the most recognizable athletes on the planet is no understatement. It’s the plain truth, and even Curry’s teammates have been seen getting starstruck by his presence.
Case in point: During a recent team photoshoot, Curry noticed that there were a couple of individuals standing next to the photographers. Their intent was crystal clear: get a photo or two snapped alongside the NBA’s all-time leader in three-pointers made.
The most hilarious part of this situation? The two individuals were professional athletes who were signed by the same NBA team as Curry.
In the viral clip showing this lighthearted scene, Chance McMillian is the first to approach Curry for a picture. The former Texas Tech Red Raiders guard was eight years old when the Golden State Warriors drafted Curry seventh overall in the 2009 NBA Draft. As McMillian was playing high school hoops, Curry was winning his first NBA title in 2015.
After McMillian had his moment, it was Will Richard’s turn. The 22-year-old floor general actually has something in his trophy case that Curry doesn’t: an NCAA championship, which he won with the Florida Gators earlier this year. But when Richard was 13, going on 14, Curry was making history as the first-ever unanimously voted NBA MVP.

It’s no surprise, then, that both McMillian and Richard took full advantage of their stature as newly minted NBA players in order to get close to Curry. In many circles, the four-time NBA champion has entered the GOAT conversation; as such, there’s no reason to blame any youngster who timidly comes up to Curry asking for a much-awaited photo.
Both McMillian and Richard were signed by Golden State earlier this week. This means that they can officially brag to their children and grandchildren that they were once teammates with an all-time great. As Curry enters Year 16, the entire NBA community is aware that he is closer to the end than the beginning of his career. Long after Curry hangs up his sneakers, two rookies from the batch of 2025 will still have framed photographs that pay tribute to his legacy.
