Tyler Herro Reveals He Still Isn't Completely Healthy From Recent Injury
Nov 26, 2025
The Miami Heat are one of the bigger surprises of this still-young NBA season. With their best scorer, Tyler Herro, out for the first 17 games of the season, many expected the Heat to struggle. Instead, they came out hot, starting the season 11–6 without Herro, and looking like a formidable playoff team.
Herro returned this week to the Heat lineup and looked solid in his season debut. He scored 24 points (12-of-18 from the field) and added seven rebounds and three steals to the stat sheet.

While Herro looked almost exactly like his old self, supposedly, he still isn’t playing at 100%.
The Miami Herald asked Herro how he felt after his first game back.
“I still got to rehab, recover… I easily could have waited another two weeks to come back, but I’m healthy enough to be out there, and I want to be out there. That was most important to me. I kind of circled this date three or four weeks ago and was like, ‘I’m ready. Forget it, I’m ready.’ I took the last couple days when the team was on the road to prepare my body for tonight, and it was a lot of fun to go out there and compete and ultimately win.”
It is commendable that Herro came back without being 100% healthy, but it is also a bit concerning. The way the Heat have been playing, there was no reason to rush back. Herro should have waited until he was 100% healed before returning to the court.
Obviously, the Heat training staff must believe that returning at this point in his rehabilitation process won’t be a problem. However, if he ends up re-aggravating the injury, someone in Miami could be in a lot of trouble.
