Shaq and LeBron Go Back and Forth With Veiled Shots

The Inside the NBA crew has often gotten flack for hating on this new generation of NBA players. Shaq and Charles Barkley, in particular, have a history of calling out current NBA players and starting beefs. Even now that their show is no longer a core part of NBA coverage, they are still finding a way to stay relevant in the news.

Recently, Shaq spoke about the end of LeBron’s career and the recent news that he won’t be starting in the All-Star game.

"He is one of the few players that's only been slowed down by age. I don't want to see the king coming off the bench. I'll spare the King. Is he playing like an All Star? A little bit but I don't want to see the king coming off the bench.”

LeBron is obviously aging, but he is still playing at an elite level. Does he deserve an All-Star spot? Maybe not. But he is a legend and the NBA wants him to play in the All-Star game.

While Shaq’s comments weren’t too disrespectful to LeBron, LeBron still had a diss to send back to Shaq. LeBron brought up the fact that he carried an aging Shaq in Cleveland.

The end of Shaq’s career was a lot less glamorous than James’ has been. Shaq was jumping from team to team, and ended his career as a shell of his former self.

If LeBron ends up retiring this year or next, we can at least say that he was still playing high quality basketball all the way through.
