Surprise Eastern Conference Team Set To Pursue Giannis Antetokounmpo At The Deadline

Over the past few days, the entire NBA world has been talking about the future of Giannis Antetokounmpo after reports emerged that the Milwaukee Bucks superstar is ready to move on after a decade with the organization. Obviously, the first place that people will look is the big-market, contending teams such as the Miami Heat, New York Knicks, and Golden State Warriors, but as of right now, the race to land No. 34 appears to be wide open.

Teams like Atlanta have also been linked to the two-time MVP, and now, the Brooklyn Nets are reportedly seen as a team that could offload significant draft capital to land Antetokounmpo.

"Brooklyn has 10 tradable firsts, Michael Porter Jr., and 11 tradable firsts as of draft night. I think Brooklyn will seriously consider making an offer."

With upwards of 10 moveable first-round picks as well as players like Michael Porter Jr. and Cam Thomas, the Nets could be in a prime position to land their superstar of the present and the future. The only issue in Brooklyn is that Giannis reportedly wants a long-term extension as a part of trade talks, and given that Brooklyn has no established players outside of the ones that would be traded, there's little future for him there.

Ultimately, it's likely that the Nets won't be as aggressive as other teams in Giannis talks, but if things don't progress elsewhere, don't be shocked to see the Nets and their plethora of draft picks insert themselves into the conversation.
