Cooper Flagg Makes More NBA History In His Latest Performance

Cooper Flagg came into the NBA as the most hyped rookie since Victor Wembanyama, and this season, he's put together some incredible games. Overall, this year, Flagg is averaging an impressive 20 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists per game, and with the young Mavericks star not turning 20 until next December, the future is ridiculously bright in Dallas.

It seems as though every week, Flagg is passing a LeBron James record for a teenager in the NBA, and on Thursday, he took that to another level entirely. Matched up against fellow Rookie of the Year contender Kon Knueppel, Flagg went to work, putting up a ridiculous 49 points on 20–29 shooting to go along with 10 rebounds in the game.

In the process, he set several records, including the most points by any teen in NBA history, while also being the first rookie to post at least 49–10 since Michael Jordan way back in 1984–85. This was yet another incredible performance from Flagg, and while he's on a team with Kyrie Irving (when healthy), Anthony Davis, and Klay Thompson, it's becoming increasingly clear that the rookie is already the face of the Mavericks franchise.

Ultimately, this performance wasn't enough for the Mavericks to get the win, as they fell 123–121 on the night, but given what we've seen from Flagg at a superstar level this season, it's safe to say that the future in Dallas is incredibly bright moving forward.
