Serge Ibaka Hints At A Potential NBA Comeback On Social Media
Nov 3, 2025
For a long time, Serge Ibaka was a force in the NBA, becoming a key piece for both the Oklahoma City Thunder and Toronto Raptors, helping the latter to the 2019 NBA Championship. In 14 seasons in the league, Ibaka averaged a very solid 12 points, 7 rebounds and 2 blocks per game, becoming a. very respected player throughout the NBA.
However, the 36-year old has spent the last two seasons playing overseas, last appearing in the NBA with the Milwaukee Bucks during the 2022/23 campaign. He's not giving up on his NBA dreams though, as he has recently taken to social media to tease a potential comeback.
Clearly, the veteran big man has been staying in shape while playing overseas, and given that his style would still allow him to play in the modern NBA in a limited role off the bench, there may be a team or two out there that could be interested in the veteran.

In his last NBA season with Milwaukee, Ibaka averaged 4 points a game in just 12 minutes of action, so while he likely wouldn't get more time than that in today's league, he could be a good leader and a good depth player for a team. Only time will tell if the interest in an NBA return for Ibaka is mutual with teams in the league, but for now, this is a story to keep an eye on as the beloved veteran may find his way back to the league very, very soon.
