New Report Reveals What Led To Steph Curry's Split From Under Armour
Nov 24, 2025
Recently, after spending his entire NBA career with Under Armour, Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry shockingly and suddenly cut ties with the shoe brand after over a decade of working together as the face of the company. This move was one that nobody saw coming, and given that Curry was the only massive NBA star representing the company, it's a tough loss for Under Armour.
As of yet, there hasn't been a concrete reason given as to why Curry departed Under Armour, but now, a report from the Sports Business Journal has shed some light on the frustrations from Curry.
According to SBJ, Curry became frustrated when the organization couldn't land Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark, while also feeling that UA didn't invest in his brand enough throughout the years. Sure, Curry was the face of Under Armour, but that's because he was the only NBA star with the organization despite immense interest from Nike, Jordan Brand, Adidas, and others throughout his NBA career.

As of right now, it's not been made clear which of these issues was the driving force behind Curry departing UA, but given how synonymous the two have become over the past decade, it was certainly a move that nobody saw coming. There are still other players in the league that represent Under Armour, but after the company lost Joel Embiid back in 2023 and now the face of the organization, it's tough to see where they go from here in regard to the NBA.
