Denver Nuggets Star Aaron Gordon Set To Miss Several Weeks of Action

The Denver Nuggets are once again shaping up as a championship threat in the Western Conference this season, and with Nikola Jokic once more playing at a high level, optimism is high for this team. Not only do they have the best player in the NBA, but they've also got some fantastic role players; unfortunately, they've received some bad injury news on one key piece.

According to reports from ESPN's Shams Charania, Aaron Gordon has sustained a Grade 2 right hamstring strain, one that will have him re-evaluated in 4–6 weeks, meaning the Nuggets will miss one of their most important players for an extended time.

Through 13 games played for Gordon this year, he's the Nuggets' third-highest scorer with 18.8 points a night, and with 5.9 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game, he's as versatile as anyone on this Nuggets roster. Now, the team will be hoping that Peyton Watson can step into Gordon's role for the coming weeks, and if he can, it will give them much more depth and confidence as they chase their second-ever NBA championship.

Even with the Nuggets' injuries this year, they sit at 12–4 through 16 games played, with Jokic off to a hot start in pursuit of his fourth MVP award. With Gordon out, this team will get a look at some new lineups ahead of their chase for an NBA title, and while he will be missed by this roster, when he gets healthy, there's a belief that this is the best Nuggets team in years.
