NBA Reporter Reveals The Latest On Paul George's Potential Return
Oct 30, 2025
Last summer, the Philadelphia 76ers signed Paul George to a massive deal, and in his first season with the team, there were plenty of ups and downs. Unsurprisingly, George played in just 41 of a potential 82 games with the Sixers, and in that time, he showed flashes, but overall, he struggled to be the player we've seen before.
In that time, George averaged just 16 points on 36% shooting from beyond the arc, and with three years and over $50 million per season left on his current deal, it's safe to say that this contract may not age well.
On top of that, the team has gotten immense play from Tyrese Maxey, VJ Edgecombe, and Quentin Grimes, making George's role almost obsolete. However, given what they're paying him, he has to find a role somewhere, and after missing the first few weeks of the season, Jake Fischer has revealed when his potential season debut will come.
According to Fischer, that return should come in the 'next week plus', but definitely sometime in November, with George potentially offering some great depth for a team that's started as hot as any in the entire NBA with a 4–0 record thus far.

Ultimately, it's unclear whether or not George will still be able to play at a high level and be a starter for this team, but if he can return to his best and stay healthy, this team will be one of the most talented and deepest in the entire Eastern Conference.
