NBA Insider Believes This NBA All-Star Shouldn't Be Traded

The Miami Heat have been trying to figure out what to do with Kel’el Ware all season long. He showed tons of promise during his rookie season and was primed for an expanded role in his sophomore campaign. While he has put up better numbers than last season, he’s also been jerked out of the lineup by Coach Erik Spoelstra.

Some have even wondered whether trading Ware or Bam Adebayo, in order to give the other more minutes and space to operate, could be a good idea. NBA insider Zach Lowe completely disagrees with this idea.
“For Kel’el Ware, this guys so talented the Heat have to get that talent out of him to have any path forward whether it’s with Bam and Ware or use Ware as a trade asset for Giannis or the next star… The talent is undeniable. They are now +45 in 325 minutes with Bam and Ware on the floor. In 6 games since February 1st, they are +87 in 59 minutes… I like Ware, I love Bam. Bam is a winner. They just have to figure out if that situation is workable for them long term or if Ware is important enough to be a trade asset or if he’s steady enough to make Bam a trade asset. I know the Heat well enough they don’t want to trade Bam under any circumstance, he’s the captain. He’s broken some of Alonzo Mourning weight room records, he is Heat culture.”
If one player eventually has to go, Lowe thinks it can’t be Bam. Bam has held the Heat organization together through lots of ups and downs, and should maybe be a Miami Heat player for life. However, if Ware gets good enough that only one can survive, the Heat have a tough decision to make.
