Myles Turner Reveals He Was No Longer Wanted In Indiana After Tyrese Haliburton Injury

For years now, there have been constant trade rumors surrounding Myles Turner with the Indiana Pacers, but throughout it all, the team has remained loyal to their stretch five. That paid off in a big way last season as he played a key role in this team getting all the way to Game 7 of the NBA Finals before they fell to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Unfortunately, that loss came at a price, with star guard Tyrese Haliburton going down with a long-term injury, and according to Turner, it changed everything. Despite being promised that he'd be taken care of by the Pacers, Turner reveals that after the injury, everything changed.

"Everybody gassed me up all year long —'You're going to get taken care of.' Then, the unfortunate situation happens in the Finals with Tyrese, and I guess the front office and ownership just changed their mind. It was like, Yeah... we told you all those things. And yeah... You helped us get to the Eastern Conference Finals and the Finals... but... we had to pivot."

Clearly, without Haliburton, the team expected a major step back, and with Turner looking for a massive payday, the front office seemingly didn't believe that it was in their best interest to give it to him. Now, Turner appears ready to chase an NBA title alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo in Milwaukee, and while he'll always be fondly remembered in Indiana, it's safe to say that his departure wasn't as positive as some expected.
