LaMelo Ball Shares His Response To Report He Is Looking To Be Traded Out Of Charlotte
Nov 21, 2025
Recently, a report emerged about LaMelo Ball's future in Charlotte, stating that he was growing frustrated with the organization, with a potential trade in the near future. That report states that both sides are potential into the idea of dealing the former No. 3 overall draft pick, but that may not be the case after all.
Firstly, Ball took to social media to respond, quoting the article that revealed his desire to leave Charlotte, seemingly calling the reporter a clown.
That wasn't all however, as Ball was asked about the report at practice on Friday, reiterating his desires to stay in Charlotte and the love he has for the Hornets organization.
"I love being here."
While there's always a chance that Ball is simply trying to save face to avoid drama in Charlotte, he was emphatic in describing his love for the team and the organization, and clearly, he has no desires to leave. However, Ball is having a career worst season in the efficiency department in Charlotte, and with other stars emerging like Kon Knueppel, that doesn't mean that the team aren't considering moving their star point guard.

As of right now, the team are struggling at 4-11, and while there's been no indication the team want to move him, if the right offers come in, they may consider them. Ultimately, it makes sense for Ball to lead this young team forward in Charlotte with Knueppel and Brandon Miller, but given his weaknesses and his injury issues, there's still no ruling out a potential trade even after Ball's response to the recent report.
