Jimmy Butler Calls Out the Miami Heat For Their 'Hidden Agendas'

After a short but successful stint with the Miami Heat, Jimmy Butler was traded by the organization a year ago, landing with the Golden State Warriors to add to this talented veteran core. Upon arrival, Butler gave the spark the Warriors were hoping for, with the team going 23-7 to end the regular season with the star forward, giving them hope heading into the 2025–26 campaign.

However, Butler couldn't help but take a shot at his former team before the new season begins, as he called out the Heat for being an organization that has “hidden agendas,” unlike the Warriors.

"All that noise, all that chaos paid off in a major way. I'm lucky to be part of this phenomenal organization. Everywhere starts off great, but then you know someone has to be the bad guy, and it gets to be me. I'm always the one doing something unbearable all of a sudden. ... But that's OK. I get to play in this wonderful league with amazing teammates. But being here, they've only got one goal — to keep hanging those things up on the wall. Ain't no hidden agendas."

This comes on the back of Pat Riley taking plenty of criticism for the way he continues to run the Heat, a team that has lacked any type of success in the past three seasons despite having some big-name stars.

With these comments, it appears as though Butler is ready to move on, and with the Warriors having hopes of one last NBA title run under Steph Curry this season, Butler will be a huge part of that.
