Kendrick Perkins Predicts Major Trade For Miami Heat Star Bam Adebayo
Oct 21, 2025
Last season, the Miami Heat traded star forward Jimmy Butler, and heading into the 2025–26 regular season, they aren't expected to be a contending team in the Eastern Conference. As a result, there's been speculation around some of their biggest stars, with conversations now beginning around star big man Bam Adebayo.
While he hasn't expressed a desire to leave Miami yet, without a star player alongside him, the belief around the NBA is that a trade could materialize at some point, especially if he gets frustrated with their start. Now, NBA analyst Kendrick Perkins has gone out on a limb and made a major prediction about Adebayo's future in the league with the Heat, stating that they'll move him at some point this season.
“Bam Adebayo will not be in a Miami Heat jersey at the end of this year. He will not finish the season in Miami… I believe it’s time. Miami is nowhere close to being a playoff team.”
Around Adebayo, the only stars the Heat potentially have are Tyler Herro and Andrew Wiggins, and even in the injury-riddled Eastern Conference, that's nowhere near enough to compete for a genuine playoff spot in 2025–26.

While Adebayo's offensive game still needs plenty of work, he remains one of the best and most versatile defenders in the entire NBA, and for a team out there that needs its defensive anchor, there's a chance that they could land Bam at some point this season.
