Jalen Brunson Reacts To Accusations Of Being A 'Foul Baiter'
Dec 22, 2025
Despite major question marks over his original signing, Jalen Brunson has taken his game to new heights with the New York Knicks, becoming one of the best point guards in the entire NBA. While he's yet to lead the team to the NBA Finals, he's completely changed the trajectory and the respect the Knicks garner in his short time in the league, becoming an All-NBA caliber player.
However, as the Knicks have once again risen into the spotlight, so has the criticism, with many calling out the talented guard for the way he draws fouls. Sure, he's not quite as egregious as Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, but fans have become frustrated playing the Knicks as a result of what fans have termed the 'dark arts'.
Now, the Knicks superstar has addressed those accusations and, quite simply, stated that he doesn't foul bait but simply uses his immense footwork to play by the rules.
“I’m not a foul baiter. I just play by the rules.”
Of course, there are going to be many people who disagree with this statement, but given how effective the 6-foot guard has become, especially in the NBA Playoffs, it's clear that he knows the rules and how to exploit them.

Only time will tell if Brunson's style and immense scoring ability can take the Knicks back to the Finals, but given his footwork, his knowledge of how to manipulate defenders, and the team around him, it's easy to see why there's plenty of optimism.
