Golden State Warriors Set To Show Interest In Brooklyn Nets Big Man At The Trade Deadline

The Golden State Warriors haven't exactly been at their best early in the 2025/26 season, but with a record of 13-12, they've given themselves an opportunity to be playoff contenders in the loaded Western Conference. The Warriors struggles for the most part have come as a result of a lack of support around Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler, as well as a defense that needs a major boost down low.

While Draymond Green is efficient in his role, having a genuine rim protector would help this team immensely, and with the trade deadline still months away, there's plenty of time for them to assess their options. According to Evan Sidery, the Warriors are expected to show immense interest in Nic Claxton, who would provide an immediate boost of athleticism and rim protection for this team at the 5.

Unsurprisingly, it would be a trade package built around Jonathan Kuminga, whom many believe is destined to be traded by this Warriors team following all of the off-season drama surrounding the 22-year old.

This season, Claxton has averaged a career high of 13.6 points per game, while also adding 8 rebounds and 5 assists, becoming a genuine threat for the struggling Nets on both ends of the floor. It's unlikely that he'll come cheap, but if the Warriors are open to giving up Kuminga, it's safe to say that Claxton would be an incredible addition to this roster if they do choose to pursue him.
