Former NBA Forward Believes Jonathan Kuminga Isn't Getting Enough Minutes
Nov 25, 2025
Everyone thinks they know what is best for the Golden State Warriors and Jonathan Kuminga. Some people don’t even think the Warriors should have drafted him in the first place, and ever since, he has been the subject of NBA trade rumors and many different takes.
Some think Kuminga is talented, but he actually makes the Warriors worse when he plays. The Warriors’ own coach, Steve Kerr, has shown he might subscribe to this set of beliefs at times. Others believe he has star potential and isn’t being used enough or properly by the Warriors.
Former NBA forward Chandler Parsons recently shared his opinion on what the Warriors are doing wrong with Kuminga.
"He's too good, he's too talented to not be playing... Quinten Post, no disrespect, he's getting real minutes. He has Steve Kerr's trust more than Kuminga? I don't get it."
What is funny about this comment is that it is completely inaccurate. Kuminga is averaging the fifth-most minutes on the Warriors at 27.7 per game. He only trails the Warriors’ three future Hall of Famers and Brandin Podziemski. Quentin Post, on the other hand, is averaging only 15 minutes per game.

This is a perfect example of why letting players flood the media isn’t necessarily a good thing. A simple Google search would reveal that Parsons’ comment is not only inaccurate, but wildly so.
Still, Kuminga definitely hasn’t earned Kerr’s complete trust. Parsons is right about that. It’s part of the constant struggle between Kuminga and the team. Kuminga is still young and needs the leeway to make mistakes, but the Warriors' coaching staff doesn’t seem all that interested in giving him a longer leash.
Time will tell whether the Warriors decide they are done with the Kuminga experiment and trade him. As he currently sits out with an injured knee, Post will continue to see more playing time.
