Fever's Cunningham Profanely Defends Caitlin Clark {VIDEO}

During the first broadcast of her new podcast, Show Me Something, Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham had harsh words for anyone who feels that Caitlin Clark isn't the face of the WNBA.
The best players in sports often have an enforcer, meaning that tough teammate who takes care of business if an opponent takes a shot at the star.
Charles Oakley and Michael Jordan became lifelong friends after the Oak Tree acted as MJ's enforcer in Chicago. Marty McSorley always ended up on the same team as Wayne Gretzky and would watch the Great One’s back. Mess with Isiah Thomas, and you’d get sent into the 3rd row by Bill Laimbeer.
Upon being traded to Indiana from Phoenix, Sophie Cunningham has become Caitlin Clark's enforcer. She went viral for going after the Connecticut Sun's Jacy Sheldon after Sheldon had taken a cheap shot at Clark. Shortly after, her Instagram grew exponentially, as did her jersey sales.
Cunningham had a message during her show for people who minimize Clark's impact on the game, saying, "When people try to argue that she’s not the face of our league or if our league would be where we’re at without her, you’re dumb as fk. You’re literally dumb as fk.”
While the guard delivered her statement in a profane way, she is certainly not wrong. Other players certainly play a role in the WNBA's popularity, but the sport has never seen anything like Clark and the eyeballs she brings to the WNBA. Clark continues to be the face of the league and the WNBA will be smart to continue to promote her.
