ESPN Reporter Reveals Incredibly Low Trade Value For Zion Williamson

Zion Williamson entered the NBA with unmatched hype a few seasons ago, but to this point, he's struggled to stay healthy despite flashing plenty of potential on the court. This off-season, he impressed many by getting into career best shape, but with the Pelicans sitting at 2-6 on the season, he's appeared in five games, once again struggling to stay on the floor.

In that time, Williamson has averaged 23 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists per game, so while he's performing on the court, the health issues continue to be a major concern. That's reflected in his trade value too, as Tim Bontemps and Brian Windhorst of ESPN are now reporting that when it comes to Zion, there's absolutely no trade value there.

“To be honest, their move might be a win-now trade, not a Zion trade, a rival executive said. His trade value isn't there and they are facing some pressure to win.”

This should come as no surprise, as Williamson has struggled with issues both on and off the court, and even with his dramatic physical transformation, teams around the league aren't willing to give up major assets to land the former No. 1 overall pick.

If he can play in 70+ games this season, then perhaps his perception around the league could change, but as of right now, things aren't looking good if the Pelicans want to deal him, and if they want to keep him, things are looking even worse after a rough start to the year.
