Draymond Green Slams The Knicks And Their Chances At An NBA Title

The New York Knicks were just one step away from the NBA Finals a year ago, and after adding some solid pieces in the summer and making a change behind the bench, they come into the 2025–26 season full of hope. In a weakened Eastern Conference, many see the Knicks as a favorite alongside Milwaukee, Orlando, and Cleveland, but according to one NBA star, that's not the case.

On the latest episode of The Draymond Green Show, the Warriors star put the Knicks on blast, stating that they don't have what it takes to be legitimate contenders.

"I just don't believe the Knicks are actual contenders. They don't have what it takes to win at the highest level."

On paper, that's simply not true, as Jalen Brunson is a top-ten player in the NBA, and when healthy, Karl-Anthony Towns is arguably the best shooting big man in the history of the league. On top of that, the Knicks have a defensive wing duo of OG Anunoby and Mikal Bridges, and with a bench that includes Jordan Clarkson, Josh Hart, and Mitchell Robinson, this team is a major threat when they're at 100%.

The likeliest reason for Green's comments is the attention that calling out the Knicks on social media brings to their fans, with ESPN using this strategy for years now, and while they're not off to the best start, in a weakened East with a fantastic team, they should be a genuine NBA Finals threat in 2025–26.
