New York Knicks Showing Immense Interest In New Orleans Pelicans Star Guard

The New York Knicks have completely transformed their franchise in recent years, going from a joke of the NBA to arguably the best team in the Eastern Conference coming into this season. They've done so by making some very wise trades and free agency pickups, acquiring the likes of Josh Hart, Mikal Bridges, OG Anunoby, Karl-Anthony Towns and, of course, Jalen Brunson.

While they've got a very deep roster right now, they're still looking to make some upgrades, especially to their bench unit that has strengths, but also weaknesses. Now, one potential trade piece for the team has been identified, with reports from Ian Begley revealing that they have significant interest in Pelicans guard Jose Alvarado, should he ever be made available.

“I think teams around the league are just keeping an eye down there to see who's New Orleans going to make available. What will they want for those players? A New York product, Jose Alvarado, if they make him available, the Knicks, I'm sure, will be one of those teams that are interested. The Knicks will be among many teams that are interested in Jose Alvarado if he is made available.”

Despite the Pelicans sitting in last place in the Western Conference, Alvarado has been great once again, averaging 9, 3 and 3 on the year, while playing his signature, scrappy defense.

It's unclear if the Pelicans will make him available, and if they do, what price they'll ask, but given how close the Knicks are to an NBA Finals run, it's a move that would make perfect sense.
