Three Players Primed for a Huge Opening Night

While Tuesday had two huge NBA games to start the season, Wednesday is the official opening night of the NBA. Let’s look at three players who are likely to have a big opening night to their season.

LaMelo Ball

LaMelo Ball is going to put on a show for opening night. The Hornets are playing the Brooklyn Nets at home, and despite both teams being expected to be two of the worst in the NBA, LaMelo and the Hornets have an opportunity to put up some big numbers against the Nets.

The Nets have one of the youngest and least experienced teams in the league. Meanwhile, the Hornets have a roster composed mainly of returning players. Expect LaMelo to take advantage of the Nets' inexperienced defenders and his chemistry with his teammates. Expect lots of points and assists from LaMelo on Wednesday.

Ja Morant

Ja Morant has a lot to prove. He was one of the top NBA stars over the last few years, but now, controversial behavior and injuries have changed people's perception of him. Morant and the Grizzlies have been overlooked in many season previews, and Morant has been tumbling down lists of the NBA's greatest players. Expect him to come out on Wednesday with something to prove. He is going to go against the Pelicans' defense and show everyone why he should still be considered one of the best players in the league.

Devin Booker

Devin Booker went from a stacked veteran roster to a hodgepodge of vets and unproven youth on his squad. The Suns are probably going to be pretty bad this year. However, on Wednesday, they are playing an already-injured Sacramento Kings. The Kings are known for having a porous defense, and Booker has something to prove. Booker wants to show that despite losing Beal and KD, the Suns can still be competitive. A huge game against the Kings would certainly flip the narrative.
