Steve Kerr Reveals His Thoughts on the Warriors' 2025-26 Roster

The Golden State Warriors could be great this season. They will have a full year of the Stephen Curry-Jimmy Butler combo that had a ton of success late last season. They’ve also picked up some nice veteran free agents to help complement their stars.
There’s a lot of hope in Golden State that the Warriors' front office has finally given Stephen Curry another realistic chance at competing for an NBA title.
The Warriors’ long-time coach, Steve Kerr, recently went on Willard and Dibs to discuss his thoughts on the Warriors’ roster for the 2025-26 season.
"I love the roster. And to be honest, over my 12 years, I've been incredibly blessed with great rosters year in and year out. It's not always a picture-perfect fit. I think the last few years, the fit has been a little tricky at times, but this—this feels really good. The puzzle definitely fits well this year."
Kerr’s confidence in this season’s roster is amazing. The team seems to have already gelled together, and there are big expectations for how the pieces will fit.
A big part of that is the addition of Al Horford. Horford, while up there in age, brings a fresh new dynamic to the Warriors' offense and defense. The biggest part of that is Horford’s ability to stretch the floor. Horford is a career 37.7% shooter from deep.

With Horford on the floor, the entire opposing defense needs to respect his shot. This gives space for Curry, Butler, and everyone else to attack the rim and create opportunities.
The Warriors' other free-agent pickups should help, too. De’Anthony Melton and Seth Curry will bring more shooting and veteran leadership to the Warriors’ roster, too.
With these additions, the sky is the limit for the Warriors’ roster. If they can stay healthy, they should be able to compete with anyone. However, that IF is a big one.
