Philadelphia 76ers Rookie Makes Major Prediction About The Team's Chances This Season

The Philadelphia 76ers came into the 2025–26 season with plenty of hope behind their young core, and thus far, they've been absolutely thriving. Through four games, the team is 4–0 with the duo of Tyrese Maxey and rookie VJ Edgecombe, who have combined to average an impressive 60 points per game this season.

They've done all this with Joel Embiid clearly being at less than 100%, but as the season rolls on, the hope is that he can find his old form, giving this team depth, star power, and athleticism all over the floor. Edgecombe has been one of the most interesting stories in the NBA thus far, as he is shooting 43% from three in four games, with the team hoping they've found their next centerpiece.

He doesn't lack for confidence either, as Edgecombe recently revealed that the team believes they can win the NBA Championship this season with Embiid back.

“With big fella (Embiid) back there, I think we’re gonna win the chip.”

Clearly, the youth movement in Philadelphia is paying off in a big way, and with so much confidence and pure talent on this roster, this team has been absolutely dominant through its first four games of the 2025–26 campaign. In the Eastern Conference, there are still some top contenders like the Knicks, Magic, Cavaliers, and Bucks, so getting to the Finals won't be easy, but if this team can stay healthy, it's easy to see why they're so optimistic moving forward.
