Kevin Durant Reveals His Plans For The 2028 Olympic Games In Los Angeles
Feb 24, 2026
The 2024 Olympics in Paris were massive for the United States, and while the world around them continues to improve in basketball, they once again showed their dominance. The Gold Medal Game against France wasn't an easy one, but at the end of the day, a team led by LeBron James, Steph Curry and Kevin Durant along with the future of the NBA was always going to be a tough one to stop.
At 41-years of age, James has already ruled himself out, with many believing that likely rules out Curry and Durant too, both of whom will be approaching 40 by the time the 2028 Los Angeles Games get here. However, Durant has now officially commented on the topic, and while he doesn't confirm he's going to play, he does deny that he isn't going too, meaning with health permitting, he's likely to suit up one more time for the USA.
“I didn't say I wasn't playing. LeBron said he wasn't. You didn't hear that from me or Steph.”
When these games roll around, Durant will be just a few months away from turning 40, but given that he's still easily averaging 26 points a night in Houston, it's assumed he'll still be a very efficient player at that time.

Ultimately, Team USA will be loaded whether or not KD and/or Curry will be in the lineup, but with one last chance to win gold, it's no surprise that Durant is eyeing up another Olympics for the United States.
