NBA Insider Believes These Three All-Star Guards Could Be Traded

This NBA trade deadline could get exciting. While many teams are still trying to find their identity and see if they can compete for a playoff position or potential title run, some will be starting to sell early in order to land the best pick in this upcoming loaded NBA Draft.

While many trades will likely be made with mid-tier or bench players, there could also be some big stars on the move. NBA trade rumors have already been popping up about stars like Anthony Davis and Ja Morant. However, many expect that even more NBA stars could eventually be traded before this year’s NBA trade deadline.

NBA insider Marc Stein revealed his beliefs on some of this season's hottest trade candidates.

"What I think is really happening here, in the grand scheme — and I already mentioned Ja Morant in Memphis — is that Trae Young is now in a similar position. He's out in Atlanta, and the Hawks have been winning some games without him. Remember, this summer the two sides could have engaged in contract extension talks, but they didn't. The Hawks made it clear to Trae Young's camp that they weren't interested in an extension before the season. They wanted this season to play out. Around the league, these three guards — LaMelo Ball, Ja Morant, and Trae Young — are being grouped together in the eyes of a lot of executives. Maybe they aren't available right now, as we speak, but these are players teams are anticipating could be available between now and the trade deadline on February 5th. And again, all three of these guys have been All-Stars."

If any of these three players end up getting traded, it could drastically change the NBA landscape. All of these guys have the potential to make a pseudo-contender a real threat, or a lottery-bound disappointment into a playoff hopeful. Keep an eye on these three guards as potential trade candidates over the next couple of months.
