Minnesota Timberwolves Reportedly Engaging In Talks Over A Top Chicago Bulls Star

The Minnesota Timberwolves have the making of a genuine contender in the Western Conference this season, even with the might of the Oklahoma City Thunder and Denver Nuggets leading the way. There's been plenty of speculation around the team as a result, with the biggest area of need for this talented team being the point guard position.

Unsurprisingly, that's had them linked to Chris Paul following the controversy in Los Angeles, as well as LaMelo Ball and Ja Morant, both of whom seem destined to be moved on by their current teams. Now, they've been linked to another rising star, with reporter Joe Cowley revealing some interest in Chicago Bulls star Coby White as they look to fix their issues immediately, with the Bulls seemingly transitioning to Josh Giddey as their lead guard.

“The source said that Minnesota is not looking to wait until February and the trade deadline to get a deal done, looking to fix the primary ball-handling situation that’s been an issue all season long for them.”

Cowley's report also reveals how aggressive they are being, and while a start of 15-9 is no doubt a positive one, they want to fix their point guard issue sooner, rather than later.

Whether that's Paul, Ball, Morant, White or another option, the Timberwolves clearly need to upgrade the position alongside Anthony Edwards, Rudy Gobert and Julius Randle, and if they can achieve that goal, they won't be a team that can be taken easily in 2025/26.
