Miami Heat Big Man Looking Like He's Ready to Take His Game to the Next Level
Oct 13, 2025
The Miami Heat are a difficult team to figure out. They are just a few seasons removed from an NBA Finals run, but they certainly aren’t in the contender conversation anymore. But how good can they be?
They still have Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro. A full season with Andrew Wiggins on the roster and the Norman Powell pickup should definitely keep them competitive. However, the Heat's future potential probably lies less with those four and more with some of the younger players they need to develop.
One of those players is Kel’el Ware. Ware is starting his sophomore season with tons of hype. Last year, he played in 64 games as a rookie, averaging 22.2 minutes per game. He scored 9.3 points and grabbed 7.4 rebounds per game while shooting 55.4% from the field. His play earned him a spot on the All-Rookie Second Team.

Now, Ware is putting on a show during the Heat’s preseason games, and people are thinking he has breakout potential.
In the last three Heat preseason games, Ware is averaging 23.7 points and 11.7 rebounds per game. If Ware builds on his great rookie year and promising preseason, he could be a player to watch as a fantasy basketball sleeper pick.
Not many people know how good Ware was last season. He will be even better with a full offseason under his belt and the Heat having a pretty thin frontcourt.
Don’t sleep on Kel’el Ware’s fantasy potential, as he is likely going to be an under-the-radar guy who fills up the stat sheet on both ends of the floor.
