Luka Doncic Taking Drastic Action To Speed Up His Recovery Time For A Hamstring Injury

Over the past few weeks, there were no hotter players in the NBA than Luka Doncic, who averaged an impressive 37.5 points a game over his last 16 full games played for the Los Angeles Lakers in one of the most incredible scoring stretches we've ever seen. That not only catapulted him into genuine MVP conversations with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Victor Wembanyama, but put the Lakers among the true contenders in the Western Conference.

Unfortunately, that run came to a screeching halt when Doncic went down with a hamstring injury against the Oklahoma City Thunder, one that has him now officially ruled out 'indefinitely'. As a result, his status for the NBA Playoffs is up in the air, but clearly, the superstar point guard isn't giving up on his chances of returning, as he's now set to go to Europe to seek 'specialized medical treatment' on his injury to potentially return soon.

It's unclear exactly how different this treatment will be compared to what he would experience in North America, but clearly it's what he believes is in his best interest if he is to return in the next 3-4 weeks to help the Lakers in pursuit of an NBA Championship.

Ultimately, unless Doncic is healthy, this is a Lakers team that doesn't have much hope in the NBA Playoffs against a loaded Western Conference, and while this doesn't guarantee his return, clearly both he and the Lakers believe it's in their best interest.
