Denver Nuggets Head Coach Addresses Nikola Jokic's MVP Candidacy

For years now, the Denver Nuggets have been one of the most consistent teams in the entire NBA, and while there are many factors involved, it's superstar center Nikola Jokic that has led the way. The three-time MVP has been all the team wanted and more when they drafted him in the second-round back in 2014, and in 2025/26, he's taken his game to another level entirely.

After averaging a triple-double a year ago, Jokic has once again dominated this season, averaging a very impressive 28 points, 13 rebounds and 12 assists per game, numbers that have him among the top MVP candidates in the NBA. However, as of right now, it's Shai Gilgeous-Alexander that is currently favored for the award, but according to Jokic's coach David Adelman, he should be considered just as much as the reigning MVP.

"He is the best player in the world. I just don't want people to skip past our guy because he's won it three times."

During Jokic's reign as the best players in the NBA, we've seen both Joel Embiid and SGA win awards that could have easily gone to the Nuggets star, with many fans and analysts citing voter fatigue as a reason why he has only three MVP awards.

Ultimately, winning three MVP's will solidify Jokic as one of the best players in NBA history when his career is all said and done, but for now, it's hard to argue that voter fatigue hasn't played a role in several MVP races involving the star Serbian.
