LeBron Discusses the One Thing Holding the Lakers Back

The Los Angeles Lakers have been pretty darn good this season. As of the All-Star break, they are the fifth seed in a super competitive Western Conference with a record of 33-21. The Lakers have been able to pull this off with each of their three stars missing chunks of the season during different stretches.

In fact, LeBron James, Luka Doncic, and Austin Reaves have only played 10 games together this season. The Lakers' record during those games is 7-3.

LeBron James spoke recently about what he thinks could be the defining part of the Lakers’ success this season.

“Most important for our ballclub right now is health. I can’t state it any clearer. I mean, not quite sure how many games we’ve had where we had a full roster. We’re over the halfway point and it’s not been many games. Obviously I know it’s been a lot more than over half, for sure, and probably even plus that. And so, our success is going to come down to obviously, I think, our health. Our coaching staff putting us in the right positions. I think they are going to give us a game plan every night. But when it comes to what we have to work with, we have to actually go out and see it. We haven’t been privy of having that opportunity much this year.”

LeBron believes we still haven’t seen what the Lakers' full potential is. He may be right. With three offensive dynamos in the lineup, they will be a difficult team to beat. That being said, they will surely struggle defensively the more those three get to play.

The final stretch of the season represents an opportunity for the Lakers to show just how good they can be when all three of their stars play together.
