'I'd Boo Us Too'; Donovan Mitchell Addresses Getting Booed Off The Court By Cavaliers Fans
Dec 15, 2025
The Cleveland Cavaliers were one of the best teams in the NBA a season ago, but in 2025/26, they've not looked quite the same, posting a record of 15-12 through their first 27 games. That is, of course not a bad record to have, but given the expectations on their shoulders in a wide open Eastern Conference, it's safe to say that they aren't where they expected to be early in the season.
Things potentially hit rock bottom for them in their latest game against the Charlotte Hornets, with the team shooting 40% from the field as they fell 119-111 to the struggling Charlotte Hornets. Of course, that is just one game, but the home fans were not happy with the performance, as they took to booing the Cavaliers off the floor following this game.
That's something that superstar Donovan Mitchell was recently asked to address, and he simply admitted that they weren't good enough, and that he would have booed them as well.
“I'd boo us too… we're not playing well. The city deserves better than what we've been giving and we gotta go out there and figure it out.”
As we know, the playoffs are the most important time of the year, and after dominating a year ago, they struggled in the playoffs, so if they can bounce back from this one and find success later this season, the fans will forget this performance. However, if they're struggling against the Hornets, it's not a good outlook for the 2025/26 campaign, so now, the hopes from fans are that they can turn things around moving forward.
