Former Warriors Forward Calls This Warriors' Lineup Best in the League

The Golden State Warriors have high expectations for this season. It will be their first full season with Jimmy Butler on the roster, and they are hoping to pick up where they left off at the end of last season. Once Butler joined the Warriors’ lineup, the Warriors were incredible. They finished the season 23-8, making a strong playoff run before Stephen Curry went down with an injury in the second round.

Butler opens up tons of different lineups for the Warriors with his playmaking and ability to attack the rim and draw fouls. One of the biggest questions entering the season is what lineups Steve Kerr and the Warriors’ coaching staff will implement.

One former Warriors fan favorite and popular NBA podcaster, Stephen Jackson, shared his opinions on the best Warriors lineup on a recent All the Smoke Podcast episode.

“I want to go on record saying this to the world: the Warriors can win the championship. This lineup I’m about to say is the best lineup in the league this year. Steph at the one, Jimmy at the two, Kuminga at the three, Draymond at the four, Horford at the five.”

What’s funny about this quote is that the lineup that Jackson believes is the best in the world is probably one that Steve Kerr won’t use much. Kerr has made it clear that he believes there are major spacing issues when Kuminga, Butler, and Green share the floor together.

So, could this lineup be as dominant as Jackson thinks? It certainly has the potential. The size, defense, and scoring that this lineup would provide should give other teams a ton of trouble. The question is, can Green, Kuminga, or Butler become enough of an outside threat for this lineup to allow Curry to operate with space?
