Draymond Green And Kenyon Martin Are Beefing. Here's What You Need To Know
Nov 24, 2025
Draymond Green and Kenyon Martin are two of the most temperamental players to ever compete in the NBA. What happens, then, when their sizable egos clash on social media?
As netizens have come to find out, it’s an all-out war of words. Here’s what you need to know about this inter-generational beef.
Character and Credentials Came Into Question
Martin, a 15-year NBA veteran who has transitioned to the world of podcasting, lit a fire under Green with some comments on a recent episode of “Gil’s Arena.”
"I think what Draymond does is calculated," Martin said of the Golden State Warriors star. "Draymond ain't do nothing to somebody who's going to do something back to him."
This did not sit well with Green, who is known to be highly confrontational on the court. Showing that he doesn’t back down from a fight on the airwaves as well, Green used his own podcast to fire back at Martin.
“To be the number one pick and make the All-Star Game one time, most would say it's probably an underachievement, you know,” he said in an episode of “The Draymond Green Show” last Friday. “Considering that I was the 35th pick and made the All-Star Game four times.”
Green also called attention to the fact that Martin appeared in the NBA Finals twice and lost both times. Meanwhile, the longtime Warriors forward has six Finals appearances and four NBA championships on his resume. This, however, did not stop Martin from later enumerating 44 power forwards who were supposedly better than his nemesis.

On his podcast, Green weaponized the mockery of his former teammate. “You guys attack Nick Young because y'all don't know what it takes,” he said. “When you go look at our championship run that Nick Young was a part of, Nick Young was the swing player in the Houston series.”
Green is referring to Young’s performance in the Western Conference Finals, when the Warriors had to contend with the firepower of the Houston Rockets. According to the former Defensive Player of the Year, Young played an instrumental role in limiting the production of Rockets superstar James Harden.
In other words, Green validated the championship credentials of one “Gil’s Arena” co-host while slamming the credibility of another. That’s cold.
Other NBA Personalities Have Weighed In
With all the noise that Green and Martin have been making, it was only a matter of time before other personalities in the NBA community offered their two cents.
Phoenix Suns guard Dillon Brooks, whose bad blood with Green dates back to his days with the Memphis Grizzlies, expressed his support for Martin by commenting “No cap” on social media.

Meanwhile, ’90s star Reggie Miller tried to pacify things by posting “Can’t we all just get along.”
As for former players Lou Williams and Chandler Parsons, who both work for FanDuel TV as analysts, they decided to stay neutral and avoid trouble. Williams made sure to point out that he sees Martin “every other day,” and as such, he wants “no smoke.”
Green and Martin, of course, will continue to light a fire under each other for as long as they want. At this point, there’s no telling when this issue will be extinguished.
